I believe this image is the best image I took for this assignment because I have never taken an image like this before. The viewer knows nothing about this girl and therefore can interpret what they see. This girl walking on campus could be going to class, going home, meeting friends, eating something, the viewer has no clue. I like that about this image, it leaves the viewer with their own story and questions. The most challenging aspect was creating the image to convey that mystery and being unable to see the girl's face or what she is wearing or holding. The photo had to be taken far enough that you could only see the outline of the girl but close enough that you could still see her. To create stronger images in the future I will use different aspects to highlight different things on the image to create more mystery and interpretation. Also, using different lighting allows the viewer to focus on different aspects.

I really enjoyed looking at your photos and your descriptions of them. I liked the most your aesthetically evaluative picture as it captures different colors and the essence of fall. One way to make your image better is to get closer to the tree to fully see the detail and coloration of the leaves falling off the trees. This picture draws my eye due to the colors and how beautiful it is.

Hello!

I love the black and white photo you took on campus, and the colors definitely add to the interpretive theme you were going for! I really enjoyed looking at some of your other photos as well, as I really loved the photo you chose for the aesthetically evaluative category--the sunset and lake fit together perfectly! You have a good eye for the beauty in the world, keep up the great work!!! Best, Carson McClung

Hello! I believe this image perfectly captures the interpretive theme you were going for. The black and white of the image also obscures the object in her hand, so besides wondering where she's going, I wonder what she's carrying. Seeing her face also makes me wonder what she's thinking and why she's making that expression. Ultimately I believe this is a great image that really fits the theme, good work!

Hi!

I think that this photo is amazing! I love that you shot it or edited after to be black and white. I think it really helps to convey the mystery behind the photo. I like that the subject is unknown and that you can't see their face and don't know where they could be going. You did amazing for this challenge and it definitely fits into the interpretive category.

I really like this image, and I think it is a great example of what the assignment was asking for. I think making the image black and white really added to the mystery of the scene.

I agree that this image fits into an interpretive category of photography. Not only is the subject of the photo unknown to the audience, the meaning behind the photo is unknown and can be up for interpretation. Especially since the image is in black and white, the audience can determine their own ideas for the reasoning for this choice. Overall, I like the photo you took and the reasoning why you chose this photo for the interpretive category.
